AI implementation / 3 min read /

Give an AI workflow a clear review boundary.

Define useful output, connect the existing tools and make approval an explicit step.

An AI workflow is easier to evaluate when the task is bounded. Start with one repeated job, its inputs and the output a person would consider useful.

Define the input and output

Specify which documents and systems the workflow can access. Describe the expected output format and the information it must preserve.

Validate before acting

Check required fields and constraints before output reaches another system. Handle missing information and failed requests explicitly.

Put approval where it matters

Sensitive actions should have an explicit human checkpoint. The reviewer needs enough context to understand the proposal and approve or reject it.

Evaluate the whole workflow

Review representative inputs, failure cases and the user’s path through the result. A plausible model response alone does not verify the integration.
